A little behind...

Ok, so its been a few days since I have blogged... So here it goes...

We finally got a little snow today, a light dusting, and I am hoping for lots more between now and Christmas. It just doesn't feel like Christmas up North without the snow.. so praying for lots more.

Physically, I had a pretty hard week, but thankfully, got some more meds today and am hopeful that this next week I will begin to feel a bit better and not be so hard on myself.

This last weekend we went to Logan and spent Saturday and Sunday with my best friend Jamie McQueen. We had seen her for a bout an hour the week before that, so I was really excited to be able to spend more time with her. This girl used to live with us when we lived in Franklin for a couple of years and was just like a sister to me. Once we moved to Oklahoma, I had basically lost all contact with her until here recently so we had alot to catch up on over the last 12 years. Its amazing how friends for life , it doesnt matter how many years you have been apart, the moment u get back together, its as if no time has been lost at all. It was a great visit that is for sure and I look forward to doing it again. Also, it was really amazing and almost brought me to tears several times watching my 3 lil ones play with her son, Nathick, who is a year older than my Desiree. Very good time had by all.

We are now 6 days away from picking up Ashton at the Airport and we are all so very excited about it. It has been since the begining to the Sept since we have seen him and we miss him dearly. We are very thankful for the ability to be able to fly him up here for Christmas and spend the 2 weeks with him. We have some pretty fun and exciting things planned while he is up here.

Santa will be here in 11 days, and even though this Christmas isnt what we would have wanted, in terms of lots of gifts....it will still be an amazing Christmas as the children did get some of the items they wanted and I heard a quote about how its not the quanity of gifts under the tree, but the quality of family time during the holidays, so I am refusing to let myself get "down" about the quanity and more about the quality.

I have planned to go up Emmigration Canyon and take some amazing family photos in the snow once Ashton gets  and then once we do that, I want to send out "late" Christmas Cards... so I will need everyones address... :)

Anyways, that is what has been going on since my last post. I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and I love and miss you all dearly.

Lots of Love,
Jamie

First Blog - Hello December!

Hello Everyone,

Wow!! Already the 1st of December. Whew.. Christmas will be here in the blink of an eye.

We are all getting really excited as Ashton fly's in on the 20th and he will be here with us until the 4th of January. We all miss him so much and cannot believe its been 3 months since we have seen him last. It's going to be such an amazing time having him here and taking him to show him the Mountains with all the snow! It will really be a great time for the kids and they will truly have alot of fun. There is several places that we are wanting to take the children while Ashton is here for some family time and are looking for a few more interesting places so if anyone knows of anything that really shows the Christmas spirit for places to go see, please, do tell.

This year has been an amazing, trying, and blessed year even if we couldn't see the blessings at the time of the trial. God has been working through our lives this year and we are forever thankful for each blessing that we were given. Its hard to believe that another year has come and gone. It seems as I get older that the years are gone in a blink of an eye and leaves me wondering where time has gone.

Looking behind in 2011:

      *  We moved to the country and because of that, we found our "Church home". We found lots of amazing new friends and we were accepted by everyone at the church with open arms and were loved just like family. We really loved attending Church every minute the doors were open and truly felt such a hunger to get to know more of the Word and craved to model our lives to be more like the Lord would want, and because of that, our family unit became stronger then ever.
      *  Desiree and Ashton were both baptized on the same day.
      *  Me and Sly made the upmost commitment to eachother, we said our "I do's".
      *  I had a pretty tough year with one hit after another as far as my health goes.
      *  After much praying, we decided to move to Utah and so far, even though its been a bumpy start, things are finally slowly starting to come together as they should. The line "God will never give you more then you can handle," has been a true testiment of how even in the toughest times, God has seen us through and we have made it and at the end of the trial, to look back and see the testiment that comes from the trial is an aww inspiring moment.

Looking ahead for events in 2012:

       * Me and Sly will celebrate our 3rd year Anniversary and 1 year Wedding Anniversary on Feb 14th.
       * Children's Birthdays ... (( Growing up way to fast ))
                    * Ashton will turn 13 in June.
                    * Desiree will turn 7 in July.
                    * Alyssa will turn 5 in March.
                    * Landyn will turn 3 in Feb.
      * We will be able to attend my family reunions and what joy that will bring to not only myself, but for the children. They will be able to meet all the cousins that they have never met and will truly come to know what joy comes from the huge family gatherings. It will be something they have never experianced and will be so excited to meet and play with the children their ages.
      * We look forward to all that the Lord will do through us and we hope to be examples for those around us as we grow deeper in our faith.

As I close this first blog, I think I will do as my family members do and post a weekly blog to keep better in touch with the life we live and be able to remember all the ways the Lord blesses our family, even in the smallest things, because the smallest blessings are the keys to bigger blessings.

A beautiful quote I ran across earlier today, I thought I would share before I go. It says:

"If you are a Christian, you are not a citizen of this world trying to get to heaven; you are a citizen of heaven making your way through this world."

God Bless You and Yours and We pray that you will be blessed beyond measure. Have a great week and may this years holidays be filled with joy and laughter and many memories!!

Much Love,
